Aircraft Maintenance Manager

Garden City, KS (GCK)
Summary: The Shop Manager is responsible for the operation of the shop floor; training and assisting mechanics in the proper work procedures and practices.

Key Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Supervise and direct aircraft mechanics
  • Making available to personnel the required technical data on all aircraft and equipment
  • Ensuring the appropriate maintenance entries on forms and work orders are properly executed on a daily basis by the responsible technicians
  • Working with the Parts Manager to ensure adequate shop supplies are available; initiating purchase orders for stock as required
  • Maintaining the preservation of all parts during the work process, installation and storage
  • Interact with colleagues to assist in developing and achieving overall location and company goals
  • Conducting periodic drills for the purpose of acquainting shop personnel with the proper use and locations of fire-fighting equipment; checking the equipment for serviceability and adequacy
  • Complete other duties as assigned for general operation of facility and location

Qualifications/Primary Job Requirements

Airframe, power plant, inspection authorization licenses
Minimum 5 years experience as a lead mechanic
Minimum 5 years general aviation
Excellent supervision and training skills
Must be able to work irregular hours, including on-call duties during nights, weekends and holidays
Technical writing capabilities
Hardware/software computer skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Professional appearance and demeanor

Salary is based on experience with a bonus
